How would you describe the difference in taste between the #9 and T52?
[/quote]

My opinion: the 9 is a much smoother, rounder, and sweeter flavor.
The T-52s are more of a punch in the tongue, not as sweet, more earthy and woody.

I like me both, but the 9 blend wins for me every time, every vitola.
Into cigars since 2008, well respected at cigarbid.com, but no trade records are kept there.

I can't pick out flavors as others can. I do know I've gone through almost 2 boxes of the #9, but I ended up giving all my T52 away. They just aren't for me.

Pete the difference between the T52 and the #9 blends are dramatic IMO.  The #9 is medium bodied, smooth, with just a hint of spice, but lots of chocolate and hints of caramel.  The T52 is full bodied, very spicy, and to me overpowering and ashy tasting.  I have trouble discerning any great flavors in the T52 blend.  I consider the #9 a great dessert cigar, sweet enough to satisfy a post dinner sweet tooth craving.  I would smoke #9s regularly, if they weren't so expensive.

Here is something I found when I was looking for the difference between the blends. The fillers in both the No.9 and T52 blends are Nicaraguan and Honduran. The difference between the two are the wrappers. The T52 wrapper is stalk-cut Habano Seed grown in CT. Hung upside down to cure, etc. The wrapper on the No.9 is CT Broadleaf No.1 Darks. This is according to Steve Saka.
They look different also. The No.9 has a "reddish" tint and the T52 is darker.

Why, all of sudden, people are looking for Flying Pigs?
They weren't that popular, when they came out. It is the same blend as the regular No.9 line in different vitola.

IMO,the regular line is much better flavor and smoking experience wise. The pigs were smoking too hot, too fast, and too short.  I had two boxes and traded and gifted most of them away.

At current market rate, one can buy two Robustos for the price of a Pig..just my 2 cents.

I couldn't tell you. It seems the No.9 is in demand at the moment, most likely because they don't make them any more. I am not looking.

Great answers (and descriptions) of the differences. And rare to get such a consensus. Thanks guys!
