Seriously if you really care what he might of paid including duty and taxes why don't you just look up the rates and do a little math.  But of course what does that matter other than to keep  :horse:

No, you should not give him a pass. You did not give him a pass. You were right. You brought it to the battle zone:

I said, he knows nothing about selling on forums, the price of cigars, he screwed up, you made your point. So you do not have to keep crucifying a new member. A new piece of info, he thought it was the moderator's job to suggest a price if his was out of line. That is how out to lunch he was about this.

Guys have been writing him nasty e-mails and here we are.

If you must keep this up, you must have nothing better to do. By the way, the last time I was in this situation, the guy was from FOH. He put my name down without my permission. So do not think this is a habit of mine.

At what point did he ever say he screwed up on the price?  So far you have been his only mouthpiece.  And for the record I have not sent him any emails or PMs.  Just my comments here.  Give him a pass mbflash80 and CB.  Let's see how long it takes until there is another TL.  These comments make this place ripe for that.

some people need to take the training wheels off and live life a little...it is sadly apparent that certain individuals go through life scared of their own shadow...relax...you'll live longer trust me.

Some people have lived life and learned some lessons.  It all depends if you want to learn from those lessons or like my kids just say that won't happen to me!

I did not say YOU sent the e-mails, Fuente Fan. And just because a guy screws up after one transaction, is he doomed to be a TL? Jeez. And for the last time, he did not get a pass. He got chewed out and will never set foot here again - like so many who know you guys are bullies with absolutely nothing better to do. He is waiting for Wade to get the post removed.
Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

this is a difference of opinion..nothing more..one character as the out of touch past generation...the other as the careless modern Xer...you just take it to an extreme is all...no one new ever has a chance with you...and thats fine...Im just saying that mantra will hold you back from experiencing a whole heck of a lot in life...but again...that is only an opinion and you are entitled to yours.

I wouldn't have even noticed this but he has asked that his post be deleted, and that will happen in the end of the month when I do the regular maintenance and delete all of the old posts in the TSBC. I don't edit the record here.  It is what it is for better or worse.

He did make a bad entrance here. Lesson learned?  If so I hate to see the guy leave, but I do understand.

Thank you Wade, and whatever happens, happens. With this guy or the next. It's the internet. Whatever.

But I will say that before OLH goes chasing off the next guy you might remember that new guys also are customers who buy cigars. Like me, I only buy cigars here because we pay 220% more than you do.

It might be worth a bit of understanding and leadership to straighten him out and not jump to the conclusion that he is a crook after one listing.

CB

Maybe someone should have to be a member for a month before they sell anything?

That's not me, and my experience is that w/o heavy moderation BBs are not understanding or tolerant.  These days I spend a lot less time here than many/most of you.  This is a hobby and a one guy operation.  I've said before, I have a very full life outside of the internet so I don't have the time  nor do I want to regulate this place.

For me the best suggestion ever was to eliminate all posts positive or negative, on threads in the TSBC.  Made my life much better, and I haven't had to suspend anyone since.  It also reduced the time that posts stay on the front page and cut down the clutter, which solved another problem I was working on.

As for the guy being a crook, there are those who believe that anyone selling for a profit is a crook, but it's pretty obvious that I don't see it that way.  I will say that now that I've looked at the original post this guy stumbled in the door and pissed off everyone in his first try.  He seemed contemptuous of the rule requiring a price which was a little irritating to me.

It's pretty obvious that he had no idea who was in this community. Maybe he can figure out the community and be a part of it.
