Four Kicks from Crowned Heads

Post by brocktonsmoke »

When I first heard about these cigars I was not very interested. I found out that the people behind it were from CAO which I never cared for that brand at all. I later found out that EPC was involved in this cigar and I became more interested. Everything from EPC has been very good in my opinion.

I decided to get a sampler and smoked a corona gorda today. This cigar was outstanding. I found it to be medium bodied with very FULL flavors. It was also a complex cigar. Cigar was well constructed and the burn was outstanding. This is a top 3 cigar of the year for me. I had to order a box after this experience. I was also just coming off having the flu so I didn't expect much but the cigar delivered,

A very good cigar indeed.  I believe Brooks did the review for it on TSS, and he nailed it.  It has a similar profile to the Short Run, but I found it to be stronger and sweeter.  Which was right up my alley.

No box purchase yet, but got 2 fivers.

The only size out of the line I have smoked has been the CG and it was awesome!  Spicy, but a great flavor!

There are tons of vendors online who have these...Atlantic, Smoke Inn, Tower.

BTW, EP Carrillo does produce these, I was asked that earlier today.

The Coronas are sold out almost everywhere online. I have some of each size and found my coronas to be slightly under filled although I've yet to smoke one.  So far I much prefer the toro over the robust.

Smoked a CG yesterday... my first.  Had nice sweet background and typical earth and leather flavors... a little bitter to start off, then the bitterness went away for the 2nd third, and returned for the final 1/3 of the cigar.  Decent stick, but I think some time will help to mellow out the remaining bitterness I had in mine... it burned very well, but the wrapper started to unravel about halfway through and the cigar looked a little ugly when i was done.  I felt the strength building in the final third, and I had a nice nic buzz after 25-30 minutes.  The CG had about the right amount of spice level in a stick for me.  I will let these sit a few months and revisit them in the late spring to check out their progress...
