Overextended on a cigar purchase so let me try and liquidate them and make $50 on each one.
I'll trade you a drawing I did on a bar napkin of a UF4 for the bundle...original...not a print.
I could do a print for a fiver. Digital color too, not dot matrix.
LOL... I wouldn't pay a dollar for a whole bundle of Liga Privada Dog Rockets. I think Drew Estate makes some of the worst cigars on the market today... but to each their own. To pay above MSRP on a bundle of DE sticks seems almost foreign to me even if they are pretty limited like the UF4.

huh ? That is one bold statement. Liga Privada, construction wise, has one of the best constructions (wrapper quality, the way its rolled, seams, veins) out on the market. Top 10 for sure. Burn line - close to perfection on many samples. Ash - insanely solid and a winner in many long-ash contests. Flavor - I'm digging No9 over T52. Obviously flavor is subjective so I can't question your judgement there but to say that DE makes some of the worst cigars on the market today is absolutely insane. If you are referring to Acids / Java, etc, thats a different conversation.

Plenty more subjectivity here.

Just my opinion...of course. You mention mostly construction, which seems to be more important to you than the actual flavors and complexity. My opinions about the DE Liga line are mostly formed around the fact that the only dominant flavor I get is ash... ok, ash with some very muted flavors and spice. Definitely, not enough in the flavor department to warrant charging half of what they charge for them, even if they rolled these between Adriana Lima's boobs. I will agree with you...the Ligas I have smoked have been of excellent construction, with a nice even burn and no need for touch ups at all, but the flavors are more important to me and those have been lacking to me thus far on every LP I have smoked. Plus, you can get 2 quality CCs (I can name of 8 or 10 easily) for the cost of 1 Liga pig, dirty rat, or even a #9 Robo.

Re: Gougers & Profiteers
Construction, burn(yes, burn), and ash are all very nice, I suppose. So are the pretty bands that go around them. Personally, I could care less what a cigar looks like, as long as it tastes good. I get nothing out of knocking off a 'very firm ash.' Construction- yeah. Make it so it draws well, and isn't plugged. Burn? As long as it doesn't canoe, I'm good. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the ash, burn, or construction, but c'mon- when those are the first things you have to say about a cigar... they're all secondary to the flavor profile. Appearance makes a good cigar that much better, but doesn't do a thing for a dog rocket. *oops* In my opinion.

Appreciate your response and Adriana's comment. LOL !
Obviously flavor comes first but I try to stay away from flavor debates b/c those are subjective. I obviously disagree with your flavor statement, especially when it comes to No9 robo or my favorite - toro. There is plenty of it in that juicy wrapper: wood, cedar, touch of chocolate morphing into dark bitter chocolate and some sweetness here and there. Also, I'm going to keep my mouth half-shut regarding your CC reference. Yes, you can get 2 quality CC sticks for the price of 1 liga AFTER you get through half of the box and all of the plugged crap. I think we can close this debate by agreeing that LP is not the BEST cigar on the market but SURELY it is not one of the worse on the market. If you still insist on latter, I would love to see your baseline and what you are smoking weekly :)

I guess I have been fortunate on the CC front... most of my collection is not from the early 2000s, when construction problems were rampant and widespread in Cuba. To be completely honest, I have had only a couple CCs that were tight but not totally plugged, and these were still very smokeable. I am actually taking my last LP #9 Robo on the golf course with me Sunday, so I hope my experience with it is better than the other LPs I have smoked in the last year or 2. I was really disappointed with the Dirty Rat I smoked 2 weekends ago, and I have never been much of a fan of the T52 blend. I really think the last Flying Pig I smoked may have ruined me on Ligas forever, but I will find out for sure this weekend. :bangin:

Sounds like a plan ! Flying Pigs - you have to love the gimmicky side of it. I will take parejo shape over that fat perfecto any day. I wish I had as much success as you have w/ CCs. When they are good, they are delicious but it just doesn't happen to me often enough.
Enjoy that golf course ! Puff On.

I think some people just like to complain. Check out every negative post on this site. There is one thing in common with all of them. A certain someone who does nothing but Bitch and moan and top every negative thread there is. Someone who does do nothing but Bleed all over this place. Strap on a maxipad and shut the Fuck up!!
