Whats wrong with gray market cigars?

To me the main concern is quality control.  There is another cigar board (which also has a large retail store and online business) that is famous for turning down a great deal of the cigars they get (sending them back to Cuba, as it were).  That is quality control.  Where do all the cigars go that people like this turn down?

I'd rather get something from a person who is going to inspect the product and ship me something they believe is good, as opposed to someone who simply wires an order to a warehouse worker who picks it off a shelf and throws it in a box, unopened and uninspected.  

To me it would be worth a little extra money in the short and long term to not gamble.  ymmv

They grey market  ;D

But I will say this.  I've got boxes from grey market vendors that i'd put up against any HQ box.

Me too.  I'm gonna smoke a RASS today out of a VERY dark and aromatic box I got from a now-defunked grey market vendor.  It's been a awesome box.
