I've seen this on low-end sticks, and even some more expensive ones from provincial factories. Right now I'm looking at a box of Montecarlos with at LEAST 3 different RG evident. The question would probably be easier to answer with pictures, or at least more info re: vitola and packaging format.

Hey Hutch...
2010 CoRo from a 25cnt box.
They may just get smoked in the yard this weekend!

I have a box of LGC gloriosos, which isn't a low-end stick, and 2 of them were a significantly lower RG than the others. I think it's normal with temp changes. Did you just get the box?

Good points!
No, the 6 pack was from a while back.
That did crossed my mind so I gave them some rest.

Re: Hypothetically - 6 Cigars - 3 Different ring gauges!
My MAR 11 box of RASS had a couple (like 3) sticks pretty far off in terms of RG. I realize the box press plays a factor, but some are just clearly off.
1 cigar in particular looked more like a RASCC than a RASS! It was wedged between 2 sticks that looked slightly BIGGER than normal. Almost like it got squashed between the 2. But I smoked it this week, and I was surprised at how good it was. Classic RASS/CC flavors.

I've had a box of Bolivar petite coronas with at least 3 different RG. It almost looked like the picked different sticks to make them fit in the dress box like a puzzle. Like "oh that one is too small, this one too big, ah here we go!"
Crazy how it feels tonight
Crazy how you make it all alright love
Crush me with the things you do
And I do for you anything too
Sitting smoking feeling high
And in this moment it feels so right
