? Are you saying they do not grow there or they do not roll there? Sorry it is DEL Rio
Neither, I'm poking fun at you for the wording of the sentence which, as I read it, say that the rollers themselves were grown in Pinar del Rio...when I think what you intended was that the tobacco was grown in that region.

LOL!!!

Which vendor is that? Torcedors from Partagas? Reinaldo? And if you saw the word associated with anything else, does that mean you avoid it?

Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.
Same here and CB's original question was "Can any stick be called this or does it have to a certain brand or provenance" so I was trying to answer the original question.
Right you are Sir.  I stand corrected.

And if you saw the word associated with anything else, does that mean you avoid it?CB
I would, but then I'm not a fan of custom rolled cigars.  No matter the grade of the torcedor, they are limited to the supply of tobacco that they are provided, and that is inconsistent.  So if you get a great smoke from say La China it does not mean the next one you get will be as great, or even taste anything like the first.  I have smoked custom rolled cigars from big name torcedors that tasted great, and then others from the same roller that tasted simply aweful to me, Reinaldo included.  Mind you, this does not mean that they rolled a bad cigar.  It only means that they rolled a cigar the taste of which was not to my liking.

Thank you for taking the time to answer. Matthew and I were in Nassau and they had a guest roller and those cigars were great. But maybe we are easily pleased? There adds the the other equation: One smokers taste is different than the next.

But I hope readers find this discussion interesting. I sure did.

Cheers,

Interesting update and corollary to our discussion:

The guy who I was buying Cuban cigs from? They came in and they were garbage. Getting a refund (Thank God).

He was very apologetic and said he did not have good storage and that was part of the reason the cigars were in such bad condition. He told me he also once bought cigars from the Duty free shop at the airport in Havana. He sold them to a guy in New York, with the receipt. The customer insisted they were fake. He asked me to please tell him what he could do so he did not have these problems in the future since he went to Cuba 4x a year.

Like I would know?

The interesting saga continues....

I know... if he were a counterfeiter they would be slick as snail shit.

He is just a crap salesman. He grovelled for forgiveness. Especially when I froze his bank account with a PayPal dispute.
