IMHO this is what really required an apology because you weren't scammed into these actions, you brought this to the table all on your own.  I'm very glad to see this apology, and I think it speak volumes for your character. Nicely done Ryan!

Very true.  Unfortunately this is something a refund will not make go-away.  I will be known for this eratic and insane behavior for quite some time.  I am sincerely sorry, but I certainly don't expect any slack for it at all.  Went off the reservation on this one w/out question.  Again...my sincere apologies.  You have no idea how embarrassed I am about it.

It takes courage to stand up and admit that you were wrong and for that I applaud you.

Out of curiousity, as you look back, do you think that there is anything that anyone could have said that would have convinced you that you were being taken for a ride? I only ask because these events will repeat in 2-3 years with different players and I'm wondering if there is any way to stop them early on.

No...not in my case...I'm naturally hard-headed and learned the hard way many a times as in this case.  I really wanted to believe I had "lucked" out.  I thought about this actually today w/ regard to other folks that come along (and I believe vets and newbs got taken...many folks who know better as well as those who don't).

I honestly think this is just a price of admission for a lot, and there's not much folks can do to stop it aside from posts like the ones here.  Unfortunately...when I first came to this great site and others...I spent most of my time in the for sale threads instead of learning.  Knucklehead mistakes bro.  In anything I've had a passion for I've generally tried to push the envelope and think I'm a tad different.  Wrong on many occassion, but right on some.  This one happened to be an expensive lesson learned in both terms of money and reputation...but I can tell you I have learned.  If it's in the same area or field...it doesn't take long for me to get gunshy pretty quick.  Impulsive and hard-headed at first...get burnt...then pretty level-headed and cautious.

Hope that makes some sense.??  -Ryan
