I disagree.  You gained the benefit of knowledge, and cigar knowledge is the least of it.  You now know that you can say some pretty vile stuff to people and with a heartfelt apology and a change of heart, all can be forgiven.  And respect can be gained by people you don't know and probably will never meet.  You now know that the cigar community has some pretty good people associated with it who actually do care what happens in it and will go to extraordinary lengths to see that the community is protected and looked after.  I would definitely put those things in the benefit column.

So true....yes..this has been a good experience in that regard without question.  I am grateful for everything you and JC have pointed out as positives.

Yes...vile stuff is correct.  I was madder than hell at one guy in particular and lashed out like a complete ass.  Not really my personality...I've probably done that a couple of times in the boards where I felt taken advantage of or misrepresented.  I swear if you met me I'm the most laid back and passive guy you'd likely meet.  My sincere apologies for the meltdown...completely uncalled for and yes..completely classless.  I am very ashamed of my behavior, and the comments and responsed I have made.

Having dealt with Ryan before and actually spoken on the phone with him, I can surely say...Well done here Ryan.

Also, what are you selling to make up for your losses Ryan?  I've got $150 I'm ready to spend.  ;)

For completeness, here's the "Diplomatic Cohibas" thread on ICC, where the cigars from Limor are discussed.

Ryan stated he obtained his cigars from Limor, not from Triple Ligero.  Though the cigars in question are similarly rare, pre-release cigars like Diplomatic Cohibas with a second single palm tree band, so they may have come from the same source originally.

This is true and there will be more to follow...I posted this at CF, but want to post it here too.  Can someone please post this to ICC as well so all are in the loop.

As Moki posted...there is more to this. I think I've refunded everyone's money thus far (if not give me a holler or pm so we can settle). I did go through all my "payments recieved" and believe I have taken care of all those who bought these samplers that contained fake/questionable cigars....I will be providing my left over stash from "Richard" aka Triple Ligero and Limor. I do believe folks are getting these from the same source as the cigars I sold that are most definitely in question are the following, and both of these guys had access to them and I bought from both of them.

HU Butifarra
Monte GR
HdM Maravilla
Any Black Label Partagas stick or Encuetro de Amigo Nov 07 cigar
Cohiba CGR
1966 Cohiba EL
Bolivar Armonia RE China
Monte 05 Maravilla (from humidor book)
"diplomatic" Cohiba Lancero

These are all beyond suspect at this point in time.

Samples I have will be sent to Insight and Moki for examination.

Tell me about it.  While not Davidoffs or Dunhills....these are certainly not pedestrian sticks.  The price tags I put on em ain't cheap either...as I'm quickly recalling via the refunds.  Let me tell you...I've had better days.  ;)

I'm sorry to all those that got excited about these samplers and bought em from me.  I thought I was doing a kick-ass job of injecting some real HTF sticks into the community....now I realize I'm partially to blame for this damn virus.  My apologies again.  Insight...please check your email...need your addy.  -Ryan

IMHO this is what really required an apology because you weren't scammed into these actions, you brought this to the table all on your own.  I'm very glad to see this apology, and I think it speak volumes for your character. Nicely done Ryan!

Thanks for the kind words.  This is self-inflicted so I deserve what I get here.  I wanted to mention that the cigars in question and the ones that I am refunding money for are more than suspect at this point, and likely to be proven fake soon.  The fakes are NOT pedestrian sticks I've put together in samplers before such as Ramon Allones RE Celestials (not terribly pedestrian I must say), VR Unicos, Famosos, etc., Cohiba Siglos, CoLas, CoRo's, etc.  Any standard issue and any HTF not on the above list came from the usual sources.  I've refunded a few bucks now...and I'm still getting requests in from stuff I sold long ago (not a problem..still feel free to contact me to discuss).

As a matter of fact, as word of this whole fiasco leaked...after my yardsale...I got a line of neighbors with torches and pitchforks accusing me of such sordid behavior as selling a bootleg copy of The Notebook, a fake roll-top desk, fake set of Enclyopedaes, ball-point pens, cuff-links.  Even back at work I overheard someone say...that Ryan SOB is selling the real shit..NOT Diet.  His coffee fund is paying for Sanka not Folgers, etc.

Alright...perhaps bad comedy on my part...but hasn't been a great week.  Contact me for sure if you think anything I've sold is questionable or on the list above here on this thread.
