Lol forgop, did this guy run over your dog or something?  I guess if there are going to be Price Police, there may as well be Post Police as well.  Please run all future posts/comments by forgop and cakebread before posting.

The market will bear what they're worth and we just don't need people who feel they they have some sort of "duty" to price police.

I worked in procurement for 10+ years.  I know how and where to find good deals.  If we want to go the route of policing, I could post a thread for a LOT of items up for sale and point out where you can get them cheaper, but that's a dick move and not fair to the sellers who very likely paid their price or even more.  Does that make them a gouger?  No.

This is a free country and nobody is forced to buy cigars at any given price.  It's about the perceived to the buyer and if something sells for $x.xx, that's what it's worth to that buyer.  It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.  If the price is too high for your liking, don't buy it.

Now that is funny shit for those who know the history.
Why pay $100 on a therapy session when you can spend $25 on a cigar? Whatever it is will come back; so what, smoke another one.

If this was really true then noone would be trying to ostracize someone who was acting in good faith for the benefit of another.  As a free and enlightened country we have good samaritan laws to protect people from retribution when trying to aid another; at the same time, someone providing information about the value of an item isn't forcing anyone NOT to buy that item any more than the gouger who overpriced it is.

I really can't understand this vitriol towards anyone who is just attempting to help another person. If it's really about a "free country" and "free market" then all the people hating on the OLHPD can keep their thoughts to themselves just as easily as the gougers can overprice and a BOTL can try and help a fellow out with some info.

In my opinion (and maybe it's only mine) I like the idea that there are people out there who care enough about others to say something about a perceived wrongdoing than to think this country is filled with a bunch of people thinking silently to themselves "Fuck him, he should have known better"...  Here it's probably a few dollars on a box of cigars but if you beat the helpfulness out of people the next time it could be when a couple of thugs follow someone in to a dark alley that YOU wouldn't have gone down.

You are missing the point because Jeffrey has steered you away from it by bringing NCs into the discussion.  Nice try.    But the premise of your post is built on an assumption in his post that he is simply pointing out where cigars are available for the newbies benefit.

I call bullsh*t.

These guys are helping nobody but themselves to keep the price of cigars down for themselves at everyone else's expense.  The price police say that cigars are available abroad for cheaper prices.  But here's the catch, THEY DO NOT ORDER THEM and they will not order them!!!!!  They want you to take the risk and expect to freeload off of your efforts.  Thus, these cigars are NOT available to them at any price other than those being offered in private sales.  So they try to perpetuate this stigma if they are not afforded the right to buy cigars at cost, even though they have not earned that privilege.  It's not brotherhood, it's leeching off of the community.

And the biggest balls is to declare cigars that ARE REALLY NOT AVAILABLE anywhere should be sold at prices at which these people would not buy when they were available.

If you think that this is about their beneficence in telling newbies where to find cheap Opus X, you're on drugs.
