510th Anniversary Royales de Partagas Pic Review

[b]Precursor[/b]
In 2002 there were 510 humidors made commemorating the arrival of tobacco to the old world. This humidor contained 5 different cigars. 2 being produced for this humidor only. 1 of them was the Royales de Partagas.

[b]Cigar[/b]
When I got this cigar it had a big ol' split in the middle. I knew it was doomed but could not bring myself to smoke it, and possibly trash it, so I stashed it along with the other four. Today while sorting through a box that I store EL's in I came across this cigar and saw a new split on the foot. Seeing it was getting worse I decided to put it out of it's misery. Now I am glad I did.

[b]First third:[/b]
This smoke started out very sketchy. Initial draws were a bit harsh, but in retrospect I attribute that to the wrapper being as seperated as it was. Tastes of cedar, earth and butter with a sweetness on the finish. You can see the initial challenges in the photo.

[b]Second third[/b]
The cigar tasted of wood, to amaretto, leather and on to a nice sweet tea.

[b]Last third[/b]
Oh, how I wish this cigar would have lasted longer. Smooth clean tobacco and heavy sweet tea. The cigar had a pleasant spice on the finish. Unfortunately the cigar finished falling apart.

Honestly, I have to say this was one of the top 5 cigars I have ever smoked. Absolutely stellar!!
