How do you quantify the risk?  As a new member I'm not really familiar with that.  The other variables you've listed can be easily verified but the risk is something new to me.  Thanks in advance for any info.

I won't speak for JohnE1000 but after the Chicago airport thing a couple of months ago not all vendors will refund or reship for confiscated cigars anymore. There is also a risk of getting the letter and a possible fine(I know the fine is rarely used but the chance is there.)

To those people who want to buy Habanos at lower prices:

The price of Habanos are not fixed as some people may believe. The cost depends on when it was bought, where it was bought from, the currency used, method of payment, shipping cost, and the exchange rate. In addition, the risk the person took to bring them to the US.

So, when someone sells Habanos, just be happy that you have an opportunity to buy some. If you know you can get them cheaper else where, so help yourself and save your pennies.

No reason to be sorry, is there?

Smokinfine, thanks for the response.  I understand the perils of bringing in illegal products to the US, I was just curious how you attach a dollar number to that risk.

OK, I was chuckling because you said the risk was new to you like you did not understand about bringing contraband into the USA. Ambiguous wording.

Great stuff here.  What really pisses me off is when someone posts an "ISO", you go out of your way to accomodate the ISO and then they ask if you will take $5.00 less for the product that THEY want.  Don't nickel and dime me.  If you want people to go out of their way for you don't dick around with them-they are doing YOU a favor, not the other way around.

I see nothing wrong with making a reasonable offer. Pretty simple to say no and leave it at that.

I personally don't attach any value to that. I sell them when I have alot of them and want a new cigar coming out. I sell them at my cost or slightly below. That is what can be a little annoying when you get PM's asking for more of a discount on a cigar that I was already taking a small hit on. It is not a huge deal and I simply sent a PM back saying I could not drop it to his requested price. :)

I am glad that I buy cigars to smoke and not to sale. Maybe someday when I need to I might sale. But I thought the whole Idea of buying cigars is to smoke them. It sure is nice that there are such great men that buy cigars to sell at their price or below. Once again I sure hope I dont have to sell mine someday. But you never know. Maybe I am doing the wrong thing here smoking them.
