Why pay $100 on a therapy session when you can spend $25 on a cigar? Whatever it is will come back; so what, smoke another one.

I think what Danillo was questioning was that someone posts or mentions that he was looking for a particular cigar or had never had a particular cigar and then to see the same person selling same particular cigars.  Seems kind of fishy.

I think we need Danillo's side of this also. Not questioning anyone but we all know that there are 3 sides to every story and one of those is the  "truth".

I think what it comes down to is that Jeff and Danilo both have different opinions about the selling of sticks.

Now I don't know who is "right" about it, but I do think this whole issue has gotten way bigger than it needed to get.  Something that should have been kept to PM's got brought up in the middle of a forum and that's not right.

Regardless of what happened, Jeff and Danilo are both great BOTL's and I talk to them on a regular basis.  I feel confident that the two of them have moved on and I think everyone else should, too.

And now you have my $0.02.

I for one do like to see these things in The Battle Zone. I am not doubting anyone on here but when I see these issues brought up it helps me with decisions on who I choose to trust. When I do see people putting their integrity on the line for another BOTL it takes some of my doubts away. If and when that person that is called out is caught red -handed all involved are then guilty in my eyes.

That's my 2 cent opinion. Best wishes to all involved.

I guess the answer is to sell or trade on another board, but that is as shady as doing the deed here?
Maybe an e-mail heads up to the gifter? If I give you a cigar, do with it what you want and trade it for what you really want. That is the spirit of a true gift.

Selling a gift/bomb is very poor etiquette imo.  Regifting something that was bombed to you seems fine to me, unless you were specifically asked to smoke it (e.g., I send a buddy an opus maduro to review and he gives it away).  Selling a duplicate you already had of a cigar someone sends you is fine and totally unrelated.  Selling something from a trade is fine and totally unrelated.

See, thats all of it, nice and neat, polished within a few sentences.  Thank you, insight.  And yeah, I don't really know Jeffrey, but from what I've observed, this would have been totally out of character for him.

How would you know if the cigar in question is the actual one that was gifted/bombed unless it was the only pair in the world or whatever?

And a bomb/gift is, while delightful, so generous and appreciated, maybe not the recipient's cup of tea?

Perhaps the answer is to trade it/sell it on dry land and not to rub his nose in it.

Yes, that is the answer. Don't post it here. Do it on another forum or sell it by pm.

I went through all of my cigars, laid out what's for sale, then directly below (in the same pic), organized all duplicates of each stick for sale.  I also went and took pix of each stick Danilo 'bombed' me with.

He was one of the first people I was talking to about getting into Tat's.  It initially started as a trade for T-110's, then he switched it up and decided to bomb me after everyone he talked to about me said I was "one of the good guys".  I did not know what he was sending, but it was pretty much everything from Pete Johnsons line.

The following 3-4 weeks, I traded 2 humidors FULL of Opus and Padrons, to acquire what Tat's I have now.  Some were purchased outright as well.  I directed him to my profile on BOTL and to read all of the trader ratings I've acquired in the past 3-4 weeks from trading.  Also, EVERY person I traded with got WAY more than agreed upon.  That's also stated in all of my trader ratings.

After Danilo saw the pic he no longer thought I was selling something he bombed me with.  His new arguement was the fact that I was selling sticks that I traded for.  That, I did not agree with him on and I haven't heard a single brother tell me that that's wrong.  Not here, on BOTL or anyone I've talked to on the phone.  Half of the people that were in chat when he went on his rant were people I had traded with, too.

I feel this was handled very poorly and had he called me like I had asked via PM right after I found out he was thinking this way, this all could have been prevented.  What sucks the most is that I lost him as a friend through this, as I see we're no longer friends on BOTL.

Sorry for your grief. Sounds like a painful one that you could not win.

You went out of your way to try and make it right. Folks here think you are terrific.

Carry on and maybe in time he will come around.

So.

Canadian Cuban? Name what you want... and let's light up (metaphorically speaking)
