Box Code Translation?

Post by oysterowl83 »

Hey Guys,

I've never been able to figure out cc codes.  Just received a box of PSD4 with the code:

BLU MAR 10.

I would guess march of 2010?  Whats the BLU?

Thanks,
Anthony

BLU is the Habanos SA code for blue, the color you will turn if you smoke these terrible and substandard cigars.  Send them to me immediately for proper disposal!  ;D

Take a look at these sites and see if you find your factory code:

[url=http://www.cubanlous.com/cuban-codes-i-12.html]http://www.cubanlous.com/cuban-codes-i-12.html[/url]
or
[url=http://www.cigarnexus.com/counsel/cuban_codes/index.html]http://www.cigarnexus.com/counsel/cuban_codes/index.html[/url]

I looked for you, but couldn't match BLU factory code to a factory name.  Perhaps my age has something to do with it, so why don't you youngsters take a look and see what you find.  May I ask if the fonts of the factory code stamped with thin, or are they stamped in bold characters?  Does it say BLU or [b]BLU[/b] for example? :bigup:

You pretty much can't. I've only heard of people actually visting the factories and seeing the codes being stamped on the boxes. from CCW:

Fourth System (2003 on) - current

With this system of factory codes, all factories have an unique 3 capital letter code that can be changed monthly and yearly. With this system there are a substantial number of unique codes available, which means there need not be a duplicate code for many years.

Consequently identifying and tracking them is virtually impossible. Only those with access to the code generator program would know codes in advance.

Occasionally a code may be reported but even if correct, it is of limited use as it may only be valid for short time.

Given the much improved quality control from 2005/6 on, the difference in factory output is reduced, making it less important to "chase factories". In addition, the rationalisation, improvement, and replacement of factories means that most brands are now being made in a single factory.

Yea that's the general idea i got as well.  Regardless of what factory..they will still need a few years for the flavor to come out..The new PSD4 are very young..less veiny tho..thank god!
