Add another vendor to the scumbag list?

Post by chenvt »

So I've been debating this for a while and checked with Phil about this and he recommended I check with a peanut gallery on this :D

A couple of months ago I had ordered a box of cohiba sublimes from a vendor in Spain. It was a calculated risk of if these were fake versus the opportunity if they were real so I was willing to take it.  The place was on certain lists of vendors, had some conversations via email regarding them and then decided to take a calculated risk.  It was in line with the official pricing rules for spain so it wasn't impossible, just unlikely :D

Well low and behold they're fake.  Obvious things like the bands being the wrong cut, box all off when comparing with my legit ones, etc.  I sent photos, etc to the vendor, he didn't belive me, but said send it back for a refund.

So I send it back, don't hear from him, then another box arrives at my door.  I never asked for that, and said I wanted a refund.  He said there's no way he sells fake cigars (the second batch looked fake too) and said I need to smoke one.

Smoke one with a cohiba whore friend of mine for double verification.  This thing is flat, mute, you name the bad adjective, it was that.  I ask the vendor for an address to send these back to, he doesn't respond.  One month later I decide to just send the 5th email and say "guess you're a thief" or something aong those lines.  He comes back and says that I'm the thief and how dare I question his cigars and therefore he refuses to talk to me!

LOL so with little other options except doing everything possible to make sure nobody else ever orders from this scumbag again, should he be submitted onto the list for reivew?

IMHO, absolutely!  Do due dilligence in proving the cigars are indeed fake, (document with photos the inconsistencies in bands, boxes etc.  Disect a stick and photo the filler and binder), then set it before Insight.  Sounds like he needs to be on the list, and as far as vendors go, he wouldn't be there, Solo."

On a side note I would like to thank you for posting this.

It's this type of thing that protects all of us and makes it harder for the scumbags to get over!

Hell the only reason I kept the box of fakes is so I could send them to the scumbaglist ppl and they can see for themself :D

Sorry to hear you got fakes. But me personally I always pass on those "too good to be true deals" if somethings much cheaper than usual or in stock from a new vendor when no one else has it ....I just pass.
