Ok... Just so we are clear here: You are accusing Dave of "setting you up," meaning that he knew that the seller was going to rip you off. That is what you are saying, correct?
If so, are you suggesting that Dave profited off the deal that went bad?
Was the original deal posted on CigarPass? Or was it from a different forum?
Dave is a VERY generous guy, so I have no doubt in my mind that what you are saying is false (whether you actually believe it or not). However, instead of just saying "Dave set me up," why don't you clarify for the rest of us.

Dave was generous with me too, but he wouldnt tell me where he found the sale offer, what he did say was some guy Warren[the other guy at Puff who was thrown out of Puff together with Dave because they were feuding in a public thread], Warren told him about the sale and Dave told me, and i still havnt seen these good trade comments about the seller anywhere.

Is there any evidence at all that Dave is friends/associated with parafumar?

Ok, so Warren told Dave about the sale, and then Dave told you. You still did not clarify on what I said earlier. Are you saying that Dave PURPOSELY fucked you over, in order to make a profit? OR, are you saying that it's Dave's fault that you got ripped off because he told you about the deal in the first place?
The two are completely different things.

Dave in no way tried to profit, or did he know parafumar as far as
i can see. I just dont see why he wouldnt send me to the sale thread at Cigarpass
instead of refusing when i asked him where to see the sale.

So, you are saying that Dave should be on the hook - for at least some - of the money you lost because he informed you of the sale?
Whether or not he refused to tell you where the thread was, how can the blame be put on him? If I told you, "hey, my buddy said that he saw some Cohibas for sale on Craigslist for only $100!" Then, you contacted the seller, bought them, and realized they were fake once you had them in your possession, would I be responsible for your loss? Hell no I wouldn't.
You are an adult, and therefore you should have known the risks involved with online transactions - especially those involving cigars that are illegal in the U.S. (assuming the sale was meant to be for Cubans).
Simply put, you shouldn't have asked Dave for any money whatsoever. AND once you did, to which he generously obliged, you should have returned the check once he changed his mind. Why? Because unless there is something out there that no one knows about, THIS WAS NOT DAVE'S FAULT. Instead, it was the seller's fault and yours because you did not do your due diligence.
Do you not understand something about this? Or am I missing something?

Yep, isnt it, but i have to walk off of it, its wastin my time.
I am not saying Dave is on the hook for anything, but initially he felt bad.
Too many hard feelings, especially for the holidays.
Nothin good will come of more talk, the guy who took the dough
isnt a cigar guy, we will never see him again.
Meanwhile i am listing some cigars too try and recoup.
Merry Xmas

Dude if you tried to cash his check after he told you not to, AND he had no real part in you getting ripped off besides pointing you in the direction of a sale for stuff you were ISO... then stepping away now isn't really appropriate. I am still trying to figure out why you thought he owed you money.
