War funding bill

Post by FlyFish »

I see jk is here so let's start with one that involves the Pretzledent.  I say the veto is the right move for a buncha reasons, here's my top three

First, I DO hold the opinion that an announced pull out date serves only to set a date for the victory parade through the streets of Bagdad.  It also sets execution dates for those elected and sets an official start date for the true Irag civil war.

Second, he should veto it solely for all of the prok spending iot has attached to it....however, I conceed that veto'ing for this reason only would be hugely hypocritical of him.

Third, if he doesn't veto it that means Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi win and I can't bear to watch them gloat on TV.  :P

I think the word pretzledent is funny. I'm sorry if that offends someone deeply.

My opinion is that the only war funding should be 15-20 tatical nukes. Glass Iran and Syria over and tell the rest of them to stfu and straighten up.  ;)

sideways, cigar in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used
up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

It is all symbollic.  W has had his way with the previous Congress and there was no accountability.  This bill is pure politics with the intent of forcing the Pubs to go on record for or against the war.

What is truely amazing is how the Bush admin is crumbling at every turn.  The DOJ is a joke.  AG is a puppet for Rove/Cheney/Bush.  Rove has conducted business that has not been in the best interest of the American people.  Cheney is a prick.  The war was his idea and it backfired more than anyone could have imagined.  The party of values has been governed by men with no principles.  Paul Wolfowitz, can you hear me?

There's enough there to get things started.

:tears:  I can't argue with much of that    :tears:

But jk, even you can't be looking forward to watching Reid and Pelosi gloat.  That'd be like listening to W read Shakespeare.

I will argue the Rove bit.  We've had seven years of whining and crying from the media and the Dems about Rove but nothing's been strong enough to hurt him.  You got Scooter Libby...nice one...but so far all you have foir Rove is rhetoric and soundbites like you typed above.  Keep trying though, the rhetoric and soundbites have had effect.

Other than that I agree with you, although you have to remember, the party of values is still just that.  I have no love and little respect for those who have hijacked the Pubs.  But I fear not, new leadership will appear from the wilderness and we'll be back to the glory days of Ronaldus Magnus.  :kissa:

Thanks Wade, nice to know the thread will be here in the morning.

"If you're going to get controversial bring it here.  If you want to have a private name calling match, bring it here, if you want to write about things that piss people off, then do it here. "

Flyfish it seems like you may be breaking the rules of the battlezone a little.  ;) that first post of yours isn't likely to piss anyone off.
