Drybox Humidity?

Keep hearing about dry boxing your cigars before you smoke them.. Been doing it myself as of late.  Seems to help the burn etc. Just wondering what you guys are keeping your dry boxes at?  How long you let a stick set in that inviroment. A day two days etc? 
Keep in mind I live in the desert outside of Los Angeles. Humidity is null to none at times out this way.. Storm coming in right now and the room humidity is 24% with rain on the way. :o

To me a dry box is void of any humidification other than the normal surroundings.  As such it will vary depending upon the conditions in your area of the country, your house and the like. 

For the most part I keep my humidors and coolers @ 62-65% so most items are ready to smoke.  Some cigars I will dry box still but normally only for a few hours.  I do this using a small desktop and the humidity in the area is typically 50-55%.  (I used to dry box more when my humidors were at 70%)

I think it's more of an issue if you store your cigars at 70%.  I try to keep my cabinets closer to 63% to 65% so I don't need to "drybox".

Found bitterness issues with my CoRos(ABR05). Was advised by a mentor from Oz to dry box them for 1-2 days. It made all the difference in the world. Phoenix here, so same as LA but dryer and a helluva lot hotter!  8)

I just recently started dryboxing my cigars by recomendation of ucla695 to prevent a crooked burn problem I was having. I keep my humi at 62-65%, and only drybox for about 6-8 hours and they smoke great with no burn issues. my $.02 for those in really dry climates was if you were to drybox a cigar I would not let it set in there for more than a day.

65%RH  +/- and no probs since doing so. atomross, maybe you need to calibrate, your sticks should smoke fine at that RH range.

I trying to decide to use the salt test or get a calibration bag to test the hygrometer.
