I need some good Grass

My dad used zoysia in our yard when I was a kid, it was good grass, but if we got a rainy spell and couldn't cut it for a few extra days, it would clog up the lawnmower when I got to it, and then I had to go real slow when cutting it. Maybe it was because he got me a cheap lawnmower to go with the cheap grass.

but yeah crabgrass doesn't have a chance with that stuff. It is a very aggressive type of grass. The other thing is that once it gets going it will try to grow up onto the sidewalk, which is easy enough to manage.

All in all, I am not trying to steer you away from it, but I figure you should at least hear these things before you buy it to make an informed decision.

I had zoysia in Alabama.  I think it is more for southern climates.  Very tough stuff-loves heat.  Very tough to mow too if it gets too tall, need some horsepower at times.  Very pretty and thick though.  Not invasive to flower beds and gardens like bermuda or St. Augustine.    Yes, I'm a horticulturist.  M.S.
