Knuck..... please read my post.  There are always people in the world, from car salesmen to undertakers, that will be around to take advantage of others.  My statement is that a SMART person has those around to help prevent that.  You have made it clear that you view this person as less than an upstanding BOTL.  Fine.  Done.  Now, lets get on to smoking and letting the idiots of the world be idiots, and the rest of us can watch the mayhem.  Life is too short otherwise :beer:

been a long time since i have been taken advantage of in the cigar world.  not bragging you know, just throwing it out there.  i know my shit when it comes to cigars and all that goes with it.  with that being said i cant be the board cop to protect everyone from themselves.  we have that mentality becoming more pervasive in our society everyday..... i guess long gone are the times when men took care of there own business and didnt think everyone had to have someone protect them from themselves.  not pointing any fingers here and not trying to call anyone out.  if someone is too dumb to ask around or operate a calculator shame on them.  furthermore, any cigar is only worth what you are willing to pay for it. 
if you are comfortable paying 30 bucks for a 10 dollar opus more power to ya.
and im with mark here, life is too short to argue about how dumb someone can be.

StogieDude, you seem like and intelligent fellow, able to at least entertain another's point of view, so I offer this... Long gone are the days when men made it their business to see that right was done above all else, placing principles above the serenity that comes with turning a blind eye toward a problem. 

I too would enjoy a sit down over a smoke and a cup of Sunbury some day!

i see your point quite clearly, and please dont entertain the thought for a second that i oppose your viewpoint.  that was not my intention.  rather , my point was at what point do you let the sheeople succomb to their own stupidity and fail at the hand of their own shortcomings?
if i see something blatantly foul i will call on that in a second. goughing to me is one of those misdeeds that i feel only the purchaser can decide if it is worth the asking price or not. deception and sending fakes, that is a different story my friend.
if that was his sin then so be it.  have at him with all that you have at your disposal.
if you ever get within a couple hours of east texas and want to herf give me a shout to see if we can meet for a smoke and lift a cup to our shared hobby.

Point taken, but to at least some degree, I do feel I am my brother's keeper. I know that when I arrived on the boards I was protected by the guys that came before me, watching out for gougers, con artists, and the like.  This guy took advantage of others in our community and as such I feel as though he is a pariah and should be treated as such.  He is on the Scumbags List for a reason.

Oh and BTW, I lived in the DFW area back in the 90's and miss TX tremendously!  Not sure if I'll ever be able to make it happen, but I'd love to move back there some day!
