Jack Daniels Single barrel Barrel proof rye. Bottled in late '24 at 132.5 proof. This is some of the best Rye I've ever drank.....imho

Agreed. Also enjoy the Jack Bonded Rye. For $39 it’s some good stuff.

Are you normally a JD drinker?  I ask because I love most ryes, live very close to the stillery, and don't know any JD drinkers locally.  I'd be willing to give that a shot next time I'm filling my whiskey cupboard.

Russell's 13 yo, anything from Wild Turkey distillery is great

Haven't tried the 13 but hear 13 > 15 from quite a few different people. Everything else I've had from WT the past year or so has been phenomenal. Two of the best bottles I've purchased last year were a couple RRSB store picks. On top of that rumor is Bardstown Disco 11 (another one of my favorite bottles from the past year or so) used about 67% 13yo whiskey sourced from WT. Phenomenal juice there

I was hesitant at first because #7 is rough even mixed. These bottles are a whole different animal. If you can grab a bottle aged in the "Coy Hill" rickhouse at MSRP don't think twice about it.

Cheapest I've seen it was $52 w/o tax and I thought that was a steal.

My local independent store carries all kinds of great stuff and the owner is a BOTL.  I go in there and we trade stogies often.  We've become friends and he always holds great stuff in the back room liquor storage when it come in.  I've gotten EH Taylor single barrels, Orphan Barrels, Little Book, as well as my average mixers like Elijah Craig etc.

I picked up a bottle of Old Fitz 7 year from him the other day.  He had a case come in and he told me I had to take a bottle of it.  He insisted, saying they are hard to find and he hides them because guys walk in looking to buy them for the secondary market.  I agreed, and that's what I've been sipping on, I may need to go get another one.  lol.

Cheers!
