I tend to be exclusively a CC smoker but because I always tend to hear about different domestically available cigars I will on occasion pick one up and try it. Normally I'm disappointed, however at times I'm surprised and I guess this is why I keep my options open.
In that spirit I picked up an AF rare pink Work of Art at an authorized dealer this weekend. I paid 29.95 for this little cigar and I have heard lots of people say they are great. I've even seen a few samplers and other sizes pop up here for sale. Beautiful cigar, all the bells and whistles with the labels as usual for AF, but I have to say I was disappointed. The cigar was pretty bland, had no real flavor and was pretty bitter through most of it. The best part was at the end, maybe because I knew it was coming to and end and I was looking forward to it. IDK, not my cup of tea I guess.
I will say however that I was in NYC recently and I stopped by a little cigar place called Martinez Cigars. They hand roll their own blends in this tiny little shop and I picked up two robustos from their Pasion line at $12 a stick and brought them home. I gave one to my smoking buddy and we were blown away. We both smoke mostly CC and this little stick was amazing. We order a box from them that just arrived today. Anything out there that you guys recommend? I'll post some pictures from Martinez in a bit.

AF Rare Pink Work of Art
“Smoking cigars is like falling in love. First, you are attracted by its shape; you stay for its flavor, and you must always remember never, never to let the flame go out!"

I was able to order from their online store, I liked the Pasion series as it is their bolder blend, but they had others. I ordered the 550 line. Just figured I'd share.

I've smoked somewhere between 5-10 Rare Pinks since they were released. Some have been stunningly good while others have been bland as you describe. Not sure if it has to do with vitola or if they're just inconsistent. Either way, I doubt I would pick up any more once these are gone.

Signatures are the way to go with Rare Pinks. Fund them to be very consistent and burn well. Nothing but trouble with WOA

Good to know about the signatures, i’ll give them a try.
I did have an Aroma de Cuba Box pressed Torpedo that was on the CA top 25 list and i really liked that cigar, as well as the EP Carrillo that was also on that same list. both we’re good.
