Looking for advice on selling some of my cc collection

Post by JPS72 »

Hey guys,

I am just looking for some advice on possibly selling some of my cc collection. I was building my collection from 2013 for several years (I was active on the FOH forums at that time with the same username) and then became busy traveling for work, etc. and have been maintaining them in a Zarges aluminum box and converted wine fridge in my home office since.

I have over 600 total cigars and have noticed that market prices seem to have significantly increased over the years since I was active. I was just wondering what would be your recommendations for determining pricing and the best way to go about starting to sell some of my collection (and not get scammed in the process). These were purchased from the LCDH Knokke (Frederic), COH (Ravi), James Fox Dublin, and one box of RASCC from the LCDH in Dubai while traveling.

For reference, some of what I have includes a box of Cohiba BHK 52 BTO OCT 12, H. Upmann Sir Winston ARG AGO 14 box of 25, Cohiba Siglo VI UME AGO 14 box of 25, Cohiba Siglo VI ORA JUN 14 box of 10, Cohiba Siglo IV LUB JUN 14 box of 25, Cohiba Siglo II RAE NOV 13 box of 25. Those along with a bunch of partial boxes of Siglo II/IV/VI's and a 24/25 partial box LGC MDO2's are probably the most valuable in my collection I am thinking.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great holiday!

Those are all very high end and my advice would be to consider Bond Roberts.  Listing them here will more than likely take a while to sell and I would estimate a yield of 20% below FMV.  Good luck...and too bad you cant enjoy them yourself...killer stuff. MB

Just seeing this now.  I have been going through EXACTLY the same issue.  Got a bunch of fancy stuff from 2013-2015 and frankly it’s just too much and I need to downsize.  I echo the Bond Roberts route as well because it exposes them to the highest viewership BUT on some of them I have appreciated dealing on forums such as this one mostly to give others a better price but mostly the folks here are very easy to deal with AND it is guaranteed to ship domestically which I really like.

Just my $.02

Could you please recommend other forums beside OLH?

Thank you.
