Re: What's your favorite Johnny O?
I fired up a Siglo 6 from early 2023. The cold aroma was magnificent, unfortunately it was predominantly sour and I had to let it go at the halfway mark. Can anyone comment on how long a “fresh batch” can last before they need hibernation?

I started burning through some '18 LC Celestiales Finos (old RyJ vitola). Not sure if it's the power of suggestion, but it does come close to the RyJ blend and they're just fantastic. Of course, I wish I had another couple bundles saved back.

My experience - good for 3-4 months, then rest.
I'm a Siglo IV guy, myself.

Two weeks ago I had a JO Siglo 6 from 2018 that was one of the best cigars I have had in a while.

I usually smoke them within the first 2-3 months.
When I don't, I let them sit until they are at least one year from when I purchased them. Have some Ambars from Aug/Sep 2022 that I'll begin trying again soon.

I smoked a 2018 or 2019 BHK52 from Johnny last year that was cigar of the year, and I smoked a lot of really good shit last year. Was a mind blowing cigar, totally took me off guard. That cigar is why I keep buying and buying and putting more of a lot of Johnnys EL stuff down for a few years nap. Novedosos from that time period are also top notch. The 2019 RyJ Grand Churchill I got from Johnny are fucking awesome now. I smoked on Monday and was the perfect cigar in every way, couldn’t have been happier. His stuff ages very well.

Pretty damn accurate. Smoking these fresh is the wild Wild West after that time period, for the next couple years. Some spot on, some the opposite. For instance, in my last comment i mentioned a BHK from John that was cigar of the year for me last year. But I had a few in the in between period where I actually questioned it. Then a year later boom it’s incredible. Best to smoke fresh, and then lay down for a couple years.

Re: What's your favorite Johnny O?
order arrived and I could not wait to fire up the Bhk-52. Quite fabulous from jump street. I can only imagine how great these will be with some time on them.
