Its amazing to me that after the last Opus X debacle, that people here are so quick to forgive and forget that whole fiasco. To my recollection, the whole issue was ignored and avoided by VRAT and the recipient was never made whole.

In the early aughts I had more than a couple cigars with ribbon-caused deformation, so I did pull them for a while. Now I just cut them.

This is absolutely true.  I've seen 10 y/o cabs with ribbons intact and some of the deformed cigars didn't draw well or burned funny.

I think I've cut every one of mine since early 2000s, but then again, I don't worry about being "intact" because I don't sell alot.  I think about how the cigar will be 20 years down the road...and that ain't with a ribbon binding on it...

I think this is psychosomatic, but in every cab of Por Larrañaga PC I've burned through, the sticks deformed from the ribbon have almost always been exemplary for the cab.  Especially if other sticks in the cab were under-filled wind tunnels.

I have smoked 100's of cigars with the dent/ribbon crease and it is always the best cigar in the cab :bait:
