Video from one of the cigar sleuths explaining some of the discrepancies to look for when checking authenticity.

Look these guys are doing the community a service spending this much time sniffing out fakes...but why the hell does the one guy "deserve tremendous respect" for immediately refunding someone for a fake box they flipped? come on...Im probably yelling from my porch as the world is passing me by here...but these FB and Reddit groups have brought the lowest common denominator into the hobby en masse...grifters, flippers, showboats...I just have no interest in those groups...though I am sure there are plenty of great BOTLs as well...but man.

"After our post on Montefortuna last week, we received an avalanche of messages in our inboxes from many of the good people here, asking us to examine photos of cigars they received. The photos & intel provided have yielded far more info than we expected. We're not ready to release any specifics beyond what's shared here just yet; just know that the time frame from which people have received counterfeit cigars from MF is much longer than they're currently acknowledging, and there are more vitolas affected than just Cohiba Robustos and Siglo VI.

Also...The photo evidence submitted thus far shows that Montefortuna is NOT the only retailer who has had these fakes infiltrate their inventory. Please don't ask us who at this time, we're still compiling evidence for our investigation. This is why it's so important that we get as many people as we can to help us out here. Those of you who purchase cigars from private sellers would do well to examine their inventory as well.

Dollars to doughnuts it’s all of em… PuroExpress, TopCubans, EGM, IHavs, etc… The fact all these vendors have copious amounts of Cohiba stock is worrisome.  I also fear my beloved Canadian exporters have been affected (Bellhop & RSVP).

Given the price increase on cohiba, Im sure thats has a bit to do with the overstock.

Even though this is a Canadian enterprise, I have never heard of RSVP until now. And unlike Bellhop, which blasts brands and tells if something is in or out of stock, RSVP just shows a specific item on sale.

Like Trinidad Coloniales, $100 off (IF YOU ACT NOW!)

Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.
