Yeah, kinda sad that with all the history, cfl had to act like a little bitch & go running to his wife & the Fuente / Newmans, and get the place killed. Clearly they couldn’t care less about all the folks that have been quite generous w their charity, as well as ambassadors for their cigars. F em.

...you nailed it on both topics.  Trust me, F/N did way better as a result of everyone at CF, they the winners.....and when I say "way better," it includes an amount of money all of us added together isnt even close.

Ultimately just appreciate meeting so many great friends, including the local crew: mrsea, Hawaii Jeff and M3.

Yeah, it was great to make so many new friends on CF over a 20+ year period and then see quite a few of you here on OLH.

JL, I remember the Fat City herfs...freaking EPIC! ..and my wife enjoyed meeting the crew and JL's wife too...

Joined that one and many others like BOTL back in 2011. I had just started my coffee company, and thought cigars, coffee. A good match for selling. Some forums had sections for guns though and some seemed to fight a lot.

Cigar Family was terrific and I got interested in cigars instead of coffee. Arturo Fuente cigars could come to Canada no big deal or we could find them if we traveled. I found this board because of guys there. After a few years we got more hooked on CC’s. Here we could buy and trade easily. Know some of the guys you mention.

Such irony the top right corner was Wade’s coffee company. :-)

Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

I was out of the hobby entirely for about 4 years as I didn't smoke or frequent any cigar forums while I was in school again with all the headache of everyday life in a failing marriage and having to reinvent myself so to speak because I had become nothing like who I really was.

When you work in healthcare, you have patients you will never forget and while this patient didn't have COVID amidst all the other patients in ICU, it's hard to look into a patient's eyes and know she's bleeding out and there's virtually nothing that can be done.  I called her husband to come in and see her without realizing he was coming in to say goodbye.  We had been running the rapid blood infuser and maxed her out on 4 pressors to keep her alive, all while we were placing towels on the floor and sides of the bed in a pool of blood dripping down on the floor.  She knew she was dying and the first words out of her mouth was that she was sorry for everything she had done to him and it just kicked me in the gut.

I decided about a week ago that I will be selling my entire collection and my beloved Aristocrat humidor so I visited here and then was unable to check out CF obviously.  The entire fallout reminds me of being part of CigarLive where new blood came in and a dumbass buys the board and does nothing but throw ads in our face and profit off of its members and completely changed the tone of the board and suspending/banning the OGs.  All of us in the original group left within a couple of weeks and it sounds as if CF suffered a similar fate.  Interestingly enough, I see the cigarlive domain is up for sale now.  I never understood the allegiance you all had to such overpriced cigars and it's a shame they just chose to shit on you guys like that.

I never did manage to meet up with anyone from this group in person but would have enjoyed meeting virtually everyone with a couple of exceptions because it took a lot to act more of a pompous ass than I did at times.  :rotf:

Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

They killed the forum but they can't kill the friendships. Don't be a stranger and keep a few cigars when things slow down and get better.

LOL, if I ran CF, it would be ran like an adult place, and not running everything by my wife for an "okey-dokey."

With CF ending and hanging over there for 20+ years I finally figured I’d get my life back.

Well guess what, it hasn’t happened yet!  ;D

Happy Friday!
