The latest on VRAT

Jason was popped on FB recently doing some rather unscrupulous things. Most people are already familiar with the damaged Opus debacle in which he was more than happy to trade his rep to save $100 or so, but this goes far beyond that.

A couple weeks back, Jason purchased a fake box from Mrr1987 which he listed for sale on FB recently. He claimed to have no knowledge of the fact the cigars were fake even though that was the hot topic on OLH both in the BZ, on multiple threads no less, and in the shoutbox for a couple of days before the cigars were listed for sale. Take into the account the fact that a mere 8 minutes and 9 seconds had elapsed between my mentioning of his FB scandal(s) and his prompt response and I have hard time believing he somehow missed this important information being shared. The extra shady part is that it was listed on a page known mostly for international transactions and not anywhere else, almost as if he was trying to keep the sale under the radar for some reason.

If that wasn't questionable enough, today he listed a box of 2017 CoRo that is missing the ribbon that had very obviously been refilled. The reasoning given for no ribbon being present was that it's better for aging, which is a new one for me. A couple other people pointed out inaccuracies with the bands as well, which is never a good sign. Add it all up and it looks pretty bad.

Shady fucks like Vrat will always have a place on here and other spots because there are tons of stupid people. Look at how much feedback has been left for him after the fact of fuckery. And that doesn't include others who have bought from him and don't want others to know they've bought from him. Suck a dick.

Mrr1987 is still a member here apparently. And also after peddling obvious fakes. This place is far from what it used to be. Not sure what it takes to get 86’d from here anymore. Bizarre.

Wade has always let this place govern itself, it's ran the same as it always has been IMO. He's always had a hands off approach to a certain extent. The exceptions have been breaking one of his very few rules or being a general nuisance to the community, ie Taps, Senor Perfuckto and I'm guessing Paulie Sucknuts since he's disappeared too. The scammers and fake sellers in the past were generally shown the door because they created secondary accounts with the intent to deceive.

FWIW, Mrr1987 has made people whole, so credit is due for that. He may not ever sell here again as it wasn't exactly the kind of way you want to build a rep, but in the end he did the right thing. It sounds like he may have been taken advantage of himself and there's at least the possibility that he didn't know what he had.

As for VRAT, he's proven himself to be a bad trader already, but that has never been enough reason to get you the boot here. While I personally find it hard to believe that VRAT didn't know the Espy box he tried to resell was fake, I will acknowledge that the situation was not a smoking gun. However, something very, very shady was going on with the CoRo box and his terribly weak excuse doesn't hold up.

He got booted for the CoRo from at least a couple of FB groups that I know of and anyone that still buys from him after these episodes doesn’t deserve any better…

This place is the best because Wade let's it govern itself. He doesn't kick people based on emotions or gossip. It's simple, if someone if bad news, people won't deal with them.

I will admit, I messed up with those Espys.  But, to my defense, I posted them in the evening before heading to bed and woke up to a shit storm.  Mrr1987 personally reached out to me and said the cigars may not be legit.  That is when they were pulled down and never changed hands.  Mrr1987 took them back and gave me a full refund.  Where I screwed up is not checking the tax stamp.  When you put a black light on it, it turned white.  Doesn't stay green.  I never saw the battle zone post until the following day about Mrr1987, so I wasn't aware he had actually sold other sketchy cigars to Miles aka RamonBocAllone.  If you guys think I am out here trying to defraud people or have some crazy scheme going on, that is absolutely not the case.

As far as the CORO go, they are not a refill or fake.  It is an FOH box.

Only reason I sold those is to fund a trip to Greece so my kids can meet some family members that might not be with us much longer.  I'm just gonna end this right here.
