Down time for JohnnyO?
Got my order recently, 5 of each stick. Look incredible smell and feel great. How long do y’all usually give these before you jump in?

First thing to do is the 24-48-24 fridge-freeze-fridge. They are smokeable right away...personally I prefer them with 3 years of age just like any CC...but have smoked tons of them at various rest times without issue. Note this applies to EL and LC line...I dont have much experience with the WF. MB

I've never done this and have not experienced any beetle issues.
I also generally begin smoking them a few days after receipt.

Its a good idea to do the freeze/fridge process. Cuba is hot as hell now, very August like conditions. Just plain nasty and the bugs love that weather if there are any. Enjoy the rest of the holiday. John

Well looks like I’m doing it late then…

Re: Down time for JohnnyO?
I always do this with any customs I get from anywhere. Except I just keep a few out to smoke and freeze the rest and pack them away. Luckily I've never had any problems.
A guy took me to this shop called cuban crafters down in Miami last time I was there and they had this huge bin full of probably thousands of misfit cigars that didn't make it to a bundle or box and lots of those cigars had the little holes. The freezer seems to do the trick though!

Re: Down time for JohnnyO?
After years and years of seeing J.O. stuff, got my first bundle.
My question(s) is: I usually smoke 1 right away (like 2 weeks after recieivng)
But how long has others here think J.O.'s hit the "sweet spot."?
4-5 years??

If you grabbed some of the EL line you can smoke them now, tomorrow, the next day...dont matter...i have stashed away enough to where most of what I smoke has 3+ years...but for the most part they are just great cigars that smoke great consistently...let us know how it goes!
