Review: Cohiba Seleccion Reserva Media Corona

Post by Hotboy »

I just smoked a Media Corona (38 x 142mm) from the 2002 box that I sold most of this week. I held back a few sticks to enjoy, and this one did not disappoint.

Definitely a beautiful cigar, perfectly constructed with a hint of resistance, razor burn, delicate flavor with an earthy creaminess and medium bodied. Aging very well, and reminds me of the flavor of pre-1997 Cohibas without the strength of those mid-90's sticks, which could be very ligero-heavy indeed.

Paired well with some Elmer T. Lee on ice.

LOL actually I must confess that I have never tried whisk(e)y on ice. I've added a bit of water to the really high proof stuff but always at room temperature.

I'll give it a try one of these days.

It really depends on the circumstances for me. The other night when I smoked the Reserva, it was a very warm evening and I wanted something cool to drink. Since I was smoking a stoopid expensive cigar, I figgered I'd drink a stoopid expensive whiskey with it...LOL I've been offered $800 a bottle for my ETL, but I haven't gotten around to selling them.

On cooler nights or indoors, I'll drink whisk(e)y neat or add a splash of water if over-proof. "Smoke what you like, drink what you like, and f@ck what you like"...that's my motto!
