Cohiba Seleccion Reserva samplers

Post by Hotboy »

Cohiba Seleccion Reserva, December 2002

I was fortunate to snag an intact box these unicorns from LCDH Germany in 2003. Here’s a list of the cigar selection in the box: https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/cigar/cohiba/reserva-seleccion

An identical intact box sold a year ago for $5,500 before all the recent price stupidity: https://www.bondroberts.com/product/view/4751/Cohiba_Reserve_Series_2003_Reserva_Selecci%C3%B3n_2002_Varnished_Bo%C3%AEte_Nature_Box_of_30_cigars

I’m breaking up my box into 3-cigar samplers because I want to keep a few sticks for myself to smoke on a special occasion. Here’s what’s available for sale:
 • [li]Sampler No.1: (1) Corona Especiale, (1) Piramide, (1) Espléndido $415[/li]

Kinda sad to see this split up but I guess it’s better than collecting dust for another 20 years. I haven’t come close to smoking any Cubans with this amount of age but I recently had a 2006 Camacho that knocked me on my ass. Was not expecting that.  Did you sample any of your stash before listing? Just curious what those might be like.

Yeah, that's what I thought as well....with 20 years of perfect condtions and aging, they are good as they will be.

I smoked a Media Corona out of the box a few years ago, and it was like old-school Cohibas I smoked from early 90's vintages. Very flavorful, with that smooth grassy and creamy flavor profile and medium/full strength.

Camachos were always too strong for my palate. The Cohibas don't have anywhere near the morbid level of Ligero leaf that Camacho does...LOL
