Factory shrink wrapped boxes
Will Factory shrink wrapped boxes still age, or does the shrink wrap prevent it, assuming that it is not air permeable?

I doubt it. I’ve heard Vacuum packing does though.
I would have to think so with vacuum packing, as all the ones I have received that way had a large pocket of air around them, so I would think that would allow for the chemical action of aging to take place.
As for the shrink wrapped ones, unless the wrapping is somewhat permeable like cellophane is, that it would dramatically slow, if not prevent aging.
Just curious about it.
I always remove any wrapping immediately to inspect for signs of mold or beetles anyway.

Sorry, I was tired. I meant shrink wrapping wouldn’t affect anything, but vacuum packing slows down aging.
Really?
Very interesting.
Seems like it would be the other way around
