Why is this site less active?

Post by smokinpeace »

I have enjoyed the community here for years and am sad to see it grow less active over time.  Why is it that both the for sale listings and message boards are less active?  Just curious as to other peoples thoughts.

Facebook and IG are usually much better for sales.

As for the forum part, I have never seen it very active since I joined and personally I suffer from forum fatigue and have stopped contributing to any forum. It’s the same stuff over and over again and I just got bored with it.

Just because the folks that post have their news to report, buying and selling continues a nice pace IMO.

Feedback too.

Cheers,

Production delays due to Covid. Look at Johnny O as an example.
That said second hand prices from those traveling to the island AC(After Covid) will be seeing lower prices and huge inventory of cigars made with older tobacco.

Buying and selling hasnt slowed down. Stuff is going for insane prices on FB. If you have Tats, now is the time to sell more than ever. Makes me sick to see what stuffs going for after I sold my Tat collection for cheap.

The forum here hasn't been anything special for as long as I can remember.

Maybe you need to be shown the door? A nice magic carpet ride to the exit on one of your ashtrays sounds good to me. You’ve been nothing but Jr High drama here and you can fit your fan base on a postage stamp.

Back to the topic, certainly COVID but mostly FB IMO. Lack of non discretionary funds from COVID has probably perpetuated some sales. But the FB interface works well....until they shut it down, which they are doing every day.
Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

ya i think its mostly social media.  Its easy access to newbies.

Most of us on here are seasoned cigar vets.  I don't even know if new accounts are getting approved.  I havent recommended someone to this site in over a year now.

I remember a time when box passes and bombs were frequent.  Now it seems to be a bunch of whining with very little relevant posts about cigars, etc.
