If he truly is in Havana now and was supposedly sequestered (locked ina a room, without any internet or phone, etc) just a few weeks ago, this is all a big pile of bullshit.  Surely he is well enough to pay you, if he can afford to travel to Cuba for the festival. The bottom line, your money is gone or was spent on other things and he has no intention of paying you, and he is blaming that on depression.  Inexcusable to me.

It’s inexcusable under any circumstance. All these losers get hard up for money, fu*k people over, then claim mental health issues.
