Novedosos from Johnny

I don’t usually write reviews but the Novedosos are absolutely cream of the crop. I’ve bought a shit ton of cigars from John, and all have been as advertised. Espys, Lanceros, la Reina, BHK 52’s, Talisman, Majestuosos etc. All are the real deal, and now we have Novedosos. I smoke a ton of Cohiba and always have. My take is that the Novedosos are one of the best Cohibas produced. I’m smoking one now, I smoked 3 on the weekend, two back to back, and I smoked a couple last week.

Light one up, and boom, off to the races. Thick, sweet, rich vanilla bean smoke. Lush is a word I would use to describe it. If you like rich cigars, this is for you. The most Cohiba tasting of all Cohibas I’ve had. Vanilla, rich cocoa, coffee bean, with light cedar on the finish. Medium to medium full strength and full flavor from beginning to end. Actually nice and complex, I really can’t ask for anything more. These will be in high demand...Habanos hit it out the park, and big thanks to John for making these available. Much appreciated brother!

This is no different than what Triple Ligero did.  I know a lot of you do not remember Triple Ligero but Johnny is replicating his playbook and getting away with it.

Wasn't Triple Ligero selling utter fakes with real bands glued on?  If so, I'd say this is a world apart.

I know you carry a deep grudge for John and make mention of it often, but so far, every indication is that the cigars are what John claims they are (to my palate) and he has always been an upstanding businessman.  That's why I purchase from him repeatedly.

Do I have the Triple Ligero affair incorrect?

I'm going to disagree with you on this one.  TL was selling fakes claiming that they were the real thing including banding.  I don't recall what he was getting for them.  I seem to recall that the prices were high but not market for HTFs

JO is selling cigars that he claims come from good stock, but he provides no provenance and makes it clear he will not provide provenance.  Prices are what I would consider very good for any hand rolled cigar, the questions are obvious, and the risk to the buyer is clear.  Let each make his own decision.

Sucks that this has to turn into another bashing of John. Let me ask you this. Have you sat down and blind smoked one of Johns Espys with a espy from a box? I have Espys from 2017 from FOH and i have Espys from John from 2017. I had my wife remove the band and then noted which one was which. There was literally no way to tell the difference. Same thing with Johns Talisman. I smoked side by side 2 Talisman from a box with EL boxcode. No way they are different cigars, absolutely no way.  Not to mention the fact that I’ve been smoking Lanceros and Espys since 2005, I’ve got a pretty damn good idea of what those blends taste like. How the hell do you fake the Espy or lancero blend? You can’t! Believe me, if you know what these cigars taste like, then you wouldn’t be making these claims. I’ve smoked hundreds of Espys, Johns are as advertised. Same thing with his BHK 52. I was skeptical, now I’m not. Once again a very unique blend, and Johns are same. If John is peddling fakes, then he has the fucking best rollers and tobacco from the best farms in Cuba.

I am not a rookie at this, ive done my homework, and John is sourcing some of the best cigars out of EL, period. You are missing out my man.

And to say this is anything like TL, is utter and complete bs. Have you done side by side comparisons with Johns cigars and cigars from the box? I would like to know the answer to that. Have you ever smoked one? How much Cohiba do you smoke? What is the basis of your bashing John? Show your evidence.

Anyway, if you have beef with John, then the battle zone is where you should have posted. Now it had to be moved to BZ. I really wish you hadn’t fucked up my review thread...
