MYSTERIOUS CHARGE ON CC FROM DOWN UNDER?

Post by terrantheman »

Has anyone had a mysterious charge on there cc?  Recently had to cancel my card that is used with OZ. Just wondering if anyone else had an issue with a mysterious AUS charge, mine was with Australian Diabetes Foundation.

No it's probably nothing, just wanted to see if any other customers saw anything suspicious.

Happened to me. Visa flagged it because I live in N. Alabama. It was used on easyflowers.com in Australia. Your number got skimmed.

I haven't had anything like that at all. I would certainly call and tell them what is going on. Since it is in Australia and sent by email it is most likely a hacked computer or stolen information.

Could've happened anywhere. Gas station, restaurant. Any place where a waitress could've skimmed it or a skimming device was placed on a gas pump. Mine was stolen at a Mexican restaurant in Muscle Shoals, AL. How I know this is that my wife's sister had her number compromised on same day and that's where we met for family dinner. They managed 3 charges totalling $700 before Visa caught it. Who TF buys $700 worth of flowers?

No. It was stolen at a restaurant. Thieves will have your card compromised and in use before you even get home anywhere in the world. My wife's credit card was stolen and a lady was trying to charge $900 worth of clthes from a dept. store in California. VISA called because she had just charged gas at a local station one hour before. If anyone gives card info over an unsecured connection, they can steal the number from the transaction. Everyone should make sure the beginning of the link says https.
