Question on Partagas...

I had the opportunity to smoke a Partagas Short (4.3 x 42) this afternoon on the patio.  It was a cigar that was gifted to me and had been sitting in my humidor for the last 6+ months.  It appeared to have some age on it.  Nice oily sheen on the wrapper and that wonderful aroma wafting forth prior to the flame touching it.  There was a sweetness, cedar, and woody taste and aroma enjoyed during the session, and I really didn't want it to end when it did.  So...

My question is for some of you long time veterans of this brand, that is:  what other sizes and rg in the Partagas line are, or may be similar to the Partagas Short?  Thank you!

Super Partagas is very good and economical. It is a bit hit and miss like all economical cc cigars.

Presidente is very good with few years on them.

I've enjoyed a couple of Super Partagas in past that have had some age on them.  An enjoyable cigar and good flavor.

As Pole Lock and you have mentioned, maybe the Presidente' would be the route to go.  They have some very favorable reviews too.

I have quite a bit of experience with Partagas as it is my second favorite behind Cohiba.  Shorts are fairly representive of Partagas in general.  You'll find similar tastes throughout the Partagas lineup.  That being said I would recommend you get your hands on whatever vitola you generally like.  You like Robustos get some D4, you like Lonsdales get some 898v, you like DCs grab some Lusis and so on.  You will find the Partagas DNA you experienced in all of these.

The Shorts are hard to beat.  A nicely aged PSD4 are pretty good too, but an aged Short is where it's at.

Aged shorts from the cab can't be beat......imho.
