Politics and this Presidential election....

I've watched this election unfold and to me it's like some kind of horror film and the script was written by Hemingway, because it is not  going to end well.  I'm far more Libertarian than I am Republican.  I don't give a damn who you sleep with or who you marry, and while I fundamentally believe in someones right to practice any religion they choose; I'd really rather people kept their superstitions to themselves.  I'm a big proponent of a strong interpretation of the Establishment Clause.

I'm no Trump fan, but unfortunately to me, he's the only option.  My thinking is this

1.  the Republic can survive DT for 4 yrs, even if he's awful, we've survived other bad presidents.  The electorate keep yelping to "give us someone who isn't a politician", but every time one gets in the ring they get destroyed by the pros.  Well time we got one.  

2. If we get Clinton she gets to replace Scalia so the SCOTUS is guaranteed to swing to a 5-4 liberal, the Constitution is guidance document court.   T2A will come under assault, and will probably lose, and that matters to me, a lot.  Now here is the ugly reality, if HRC gets back in the WH then we will have her for 8 yrs.  In 8 yrs we will lose Anthony Kennedy, and Clarence Thomas wants to retire.  Now we at least a 6-3 and quite possibly a 7-2 way left court for decades.  

This is more important than it ever has been in US history because congress has been paralyzed by the time and effort required to raise the $$ to stay in power.  The SCOTUS has become in many ways the only branch of government that will actually make a decision.  

Here is what has inspired me to post this...

Reports today are that another Bush (I think Barbara) has come out for Clinton.  Think about it.  The Bush family is viewed by many as leaders in the Republican (the supposed conservative) party.  No matter how much they hate The Donald for making Jeb look like a goof, with what is on the line with the SCOTUS this is just more proof that the entire system is just sort of like the NFL, and that they have no more integrity than the Clintons.  (and that is about as ugly a thing as I can imagine saying about someone).  

The Dems and the Reps may appear to compete, but in the end they all work for the same company and they need to get the fans to buy their merchandise, and they don't want any startups outside of the league.  The name of the game is raise money, and keep it in the company.

Trump mocking a disabled reporter says it all to me.  I would vote for almost anyone but that racist, sexist, arrogant asshole-our country can't file for bankruptcy protection like he did four times.

As opposed to the corrupt, morally devoid carear POL who will say anything she things people want to hear, who created a non-profit foundation that takes in millions from any despot in the world while spending all but 5% of the revenues on salaries (I think the daughter gets about $900,000/yr) and fund raising!?!?  All the while serving as Sec of State....  Yea, that's such an obvious choice.  :boty:

Nope, the US won't get 4, at least not in one lifetime, but the big first one is looming, and nobody who is buying votes cares because they are getting theirs before it collapses. At the rate we are going I may actually live to see it, and that really bites.... (see also: Greece, Venesuela)
