Others have stated that he's an infrequent user here, so not unreasonable that he's not been seen lately.

Add that to these facts:
1. Several other users getting reset password emails they did not request
2. The scammer did not use typical communication style consistent with the past (closing PMs with "Thanks, Paulie")
3. The user's use of VPN services indicates an attempt to hide his real IP

Read the first page post from Geoff (ryko3321) for some key insight to this.

All this leads us to the reasonable conclusion this is not Paulie doing some kind of exit scam.  This is likely a third party who compromised the original user's account.

I'm going to guess the scammer is a long time scammer here as it is that just further expanded their scam.  It would be hard to pull off on someone who is active on a daily basis that would have been able to catch it.

Yes, this has to be one of the highest dollar ones on record, sadly.

What if it tied into the guy who randomly dissapeared and shut down a forum while owing a bunch of people for libanos?!? The people i know involved in that found out the same day we all put the tracking numbers together. Wouldnt that be something!
