Be careful with sales

Well it sounds like we have a new scam going here, sorry to those of you as it isn't sounding good.  The seller has been a trustful person in the past, so who knows at this point.

In talking with one of the buyers in this sale, the "seller" used a different poopal account from when he previously bought some cigars from the seller.  Just this weekend, I got 2 emails from OLH saying I clicked on the "forgot my password" link.  Which I did not.

Clearly, someone is phishing to take over trusted sellers' accounts, and maybe someone got into Paulie's account.  If I were you, change your password to something strong if not already.  And when buying, be extra careful.  If something seems wrong or too good to be true, walk away. 

If anyone knows Paulie from other forums etc, contact him.  I know of him, but never communicated privately.

No need to change password. Ignore the request, password remains the same, scumbag never gets access. Evidently at least one trusted member fell for it and somehow scammer got access to his posting capability. 😳

Perhaps it is also time for everyone to move away from the F&F option on PayPal. That is a scammers dream.

Just pay the fees.

While the risk is there,  typically with people that have trusted reputations it isnt a concern.

In this case, and in looking through my 300 paypal transactions since november, it appears smokinceegars has used 3 different paypal accounts.  The recent one, wattyrodman99@gmail com, was actually used by him in june with a friend who GOT his cigars.

When using the fee options, it opens up sellers to taxes.  If sending over 20k per year with G&S you get a 1099...

So perhaps the real account owner knows who this is and can point us in the right direction? Either that, or they are in on the whole thing.

Its a thick plot, but i feel safe in saying my money is gone.  Not like im go8ng to knock on his door if i knew where he lived at thisbstage of my life, but ill let it play put mentally for fun:)

I emailed all 3 email addresses in relation to this.  Highly doubt any respond, but would like to know if Paulie was part of this or just the scapegoat.

That SH suburb has made you soft, boy! The Warren Way is to show up at dude's front door with ball bats and backwards hats. When he threatens to call the cops, you tell him you already did, but they won't arrive in time!

Yeah, should probably call my cross town buddy eminem to come help...

I mean, i think i have his address.  Worst case, i can express my anger indirectly towards someone with the same name in ohio lol

Its a great scam they ran.  Kudos.  Ill cut my loss, bite the bullet, and be more careful in future.  Not many other options.

Well, this sucks, big time ($$).  I just used this PP for a buy.  That said, the email exchanges are from his email on file.  I did get tracking info, no shipment yet.  You play, you pay....sooner or later.

Ha, was just saying to somebody that it's cost of doing business this way.  At some point......sadly
