Re: The religion of peace
Some interesting commentary on Don Lemon's show on CNN last night. I learned who's at fault:
1. Donald Trump (inflammatory rhetoric)
2. French police (for conducting raids and arrests in majority Muslim neighborhoods since Bataclan)
3. French legislators (for the burqa ban)
4. French society (for not "assimilating" Muslim immigrants)
The last one was quite the tortured logic...the commentator was using a rather Orwellian definition of "Assimilating". Which is to say, it was the responsibility of French natives to "assimilate" the Muslim immigrants by changing *French* society to be more accepting of things like the substitution of Sharia law for traditional French legal values, funding Islamic schools, etc.
My guess is that among the self-hating left, this will be the new hotness. The inversion of the concept of assimilation. We'll be hearing about how the USA needs to get rid of outdated ideas like a single legal framework, the Constitution applying equally to all, etc. And we'll need to accommodate different legal structures so that the Salafists will feel welcome to bring Sharia law, etc. here.

Did you see all the condemnations from the Muslim community and leaders after the Nice attack? Neither did I. They all support it deep down....
