In agreement here about obesity itself not being a handicap justifying a HC plate. But there are conditions that cause obesity that I believe justify a HC plate. I'm more in favor of it being case by case, rather than all fat people should or shouldn't be allowed to use one. And please don't include me in your "all" concerned about feelings rather than offend someone. I offend people daily (in person). There is NOTHING politically correct about me :)

I see the TFTB (too fat to breathe) syndrome all the time and you're correct in saying there are some medical conditions that lead up to that, but the most common can be fixed with medication. There's no disputing our diet intake and increasingly sedentary lifestyles contribute have far more to do with it than the very small percentage who have a low performing thyroid.

Yet, we accommodate with every convenience possible like fat scooters, drive-up windows, and handicap parking to further enable their fat asses to get even larger. And we have a government that will reward you with a disability check because you're "too fat" to work.

Good thing because my taxes dollars going to fat ass living off the state would get denied a HC plate as I see the same fat fuk eating 3 bags of Mc Donalds health food.

My grandfather, a WWII vet, broke his back during the war. He wore a neck brace as necessary, and walked with a cane all of his life afterwards. He had a DV tag for his and my grandmother's cars.

He rarely used it. I asked him once why, and he told me "Why should I use it if I don't need it? If I'm really hurting, I'll use it. If not, I walk as well as anybody else and don't need the space. So, I leave it for those who do need it." I've never forgotten what he said.

To this day, when I see some kid driving daddy's car with a plate or pass, I stop them and ask them to park somewhere else. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't. When they don't, and they wise off, I have no issue telling them what a sorry little prick they really are. Funny thing to me is, I rarely ever see an adult doing this. It's almost always some kid.

Your grandfather had it right. Really appreciate that attitude. I could use it myself sometimes. :)
