Beware of TimO

Post by CigSid »

Tried to work out a trade with Tim for some HTF HU Mag 50 LE's. It took over a week for Tim to decide what to choose from my collection. After going back and forth about 5 times, he finally did, saying he had THREE boxes, and would trade TWO.
After checking his feedback (zero) and seeing his antics on the board here, I decided to trade with him on the conditions that he send his end first. After a few days, he told me he "cannot find his boxes" and sorry.

A lot of you know me here, and trust me. I believe Tim was trying to rip me off.

My advice, avoid him.

That's a seriously big collection when you're unable to locate several boxes.

I also had a weird interaction. He responded to my For sale on Cohiba Robusto Supremos and asked if he could trade instead. I said sure and accepted his offer on the condition that he sends pictures and ships first. Pictures never show up and he never pulls the trigger. States that he just smoked one and doesn't really like them.

Ok Whatever

Then I respond to his ISO for an Opus22 set. We agree on a price, but now he cannot afford it until after the new year. How can you be looking for Opus22 sets from 2004 to recent but can't afford to buy even one?

I hope that I just got unlucky and he isn't trying to scam anyone. I just think it is weird.....

DAMN!

I sent Bill (CigSid) an email earlier to let him know that I actually found the 3 boxes of Upmann 05 EL. Even though I don't feel comfortable trading with him anymore, I wanted to cool things off to resume the trade. He replied saying that he would make a public apology if the trade goes through. I wasn't sure what he was talking about.... checked the BZ, nothing... then found this.

Let's rewind .....

I contacted Bill [with PM - have them all] on November 30th to let him know that I had 2-3 boxes I could depart and offered a trade. He accepted and asked me what I wanted. I asked him what he had. He asked me if I was on cubancigarwebsite. I didnt understand as I thought it was just a reference website... didn't know about the personal database feature. Then we decided to continue communicating via EMAIL [have them all also]

On December 1st [1 day later], after I signed up on cubancigarwebsite, he sent me an invite to his list. I chose what I wanted. He sent me pics. I told him that I would send him pics as well but I was swamped at work and not home. He emailed asking if this was still going on, I said yes but that I was busy at work and to give me some time. He accepted. It didn't take me 1 week to decide on cigars... thats BS and I have the PMs and EMAILS proving it . I took several days to get back to him for pics. When I arrived home, I could not find the 3 boxes and told him about it [specified that I might have traded or sold them... bought them back in 08/09]. They were at in my brother's cabinet in his house.

He followed with calling me a scammer.... that I was a guy called Harry ... and then threatened to out me out on OLH. I told him to go F himself.

Today, I emailed him saying I found the 3 boxes but that I wasn't comfortable trading with him anymore. He followed saying he would apologize publicly if I sent him the cigars. Here I am.

I can post all the PMs and EMAILs if need be.

[b]I did NOTHING wrong.[/b]

Sorry it was weird.

I did want to trade you some of your Supremos for some of my 1966s but I also did smoked one this past weekend and did not like the ring gauge at all. You messaged me asking if I wanted to buy or trade, I decline.

As for the Opus boxes, I had put money aside but I had more unexpected expenses to take care of [family related] and with the upcoming Holidays, I could not do it now. I did ask you if I could buy it from you after NYE.

I tried to deleted my ISO Opus thread but I did not see any option and left it on since I had no received any inquiries until you and someone else.

At first, I asked a respected member  if he could help. He directed me to someone else here. That person contacted me but his way was a bit off to me so I declined to buy it from him. I had the cash ready when that person contacted me. When you did, I did not.

To everyone here.....

I have absolutely no intention... none at all, to scam anyone. Whatever happened here before is not my problem and I won't accept to bear the weight for something I didn't do. I was expecting to send and pay first since I am new here. Timing, family, work got in a way. I should have planned myself accordingly. My apologies for whatever inconvenience I may have caused.

I have another pending trade with another person. I will cancel it and only buy cigars so that I can build a reputation and then move on to trades.

Thanks
Tim
