Howdy from Trey

Post by Spad31 »

Howdy. I'm Trey. Active Duty Air Force type, Major.

I've spent the majority of my career in fighter squadrons and I wouldn't have traded jobs with anyone. I've recently returned from the Air Operations Center at Ramstein. Cool job, and I was forced to travel around Europe on the AF's dime; I coped the best I could. I've been fortunate in my career to serve on both sides of the Officer/Enlisted fence, and I'm fiercely protective of my enlisted Airmen. They are truly the most creative and intelligent people on the planet and the reason why our Air Force is as deadly and effective as we are. They deserve your respect.

I met my wife on Sunday, Sept 11th 1994 at about 1045. Finally introduced myself formally and asked her out just before Thanksgiving. We agreed to get married on our first date and she moved in the next day. Got hitched in July of '95. We're just about at 20 years together. She is the single coolest, sexiest, most headstrong, crazy Texas hottie in the world, and I'm lucky she puts up with my crap. I wear the pants, and do a good job of stomping around like I'm in charge, but she owns the Kitty, and that makes her boss. Dammit. She does a great job of letting me pretend I run the show. She also gave me the most outstanding son ever. He's 17 now, and isn't so little anymore. What the hell happened to my little boy, and when the hell did I become an over-40 year old? What the hell? Neither of them smoke, and they give me the squinty eye, but she's cool about it....she just hates the smell. (I only smoke outdoors) Babied my humi while I was deployed.

In my previous life before the Air Force, I was the longhaired, head banging guitar player-type in a few local Dallas bands. If you were into the Dallas live music scene in the early '90s, chances are we ran into each other at a club somewhere downtown. I still play when I get the urge, and no, the years passing haven't diminished my love of loud amps. I'm thinking of a drum kit for my boy.....

So...Life is truly good, and I'm paid by the Government to be a geek. This country is the finest in the world, and I would serve her for free.
Preferences are generally Robusto-ish or smaller (time, smoking alone, etc.)
Been a member of another forum for years. Great place, great family and very fun, instructional, etc. Done trades, buys, bombs, but never any joined any place other than that forum. Great friend of mine there recommended this forum to me, so...here I am! Looking to lurk and learn.
Oh, and he introduced me to pipes and the differing tobaccos...I've gone freaking overboard spending on that new addiction too in the last month or so. *Facepalm* *Shakes tiny fist at self*
Nice to meet all of you! Looking forward to good, honest no-drama family!
