When I was in the Navy we had an incident with some hazing on the ship where the Eng walked in one someone getting greased.  The LPO had a discussion with us regarding when and where to do certain things.  You don't send someone to the XO for the keys to the sea-chest, you don't send someone to the Captain for anything like that, and in this case, if you actually have two functioning brain cells, you don't beat the crap out of a defenseless suspect in the wash from the rotors of the freaking news chopper!

Pretty apparent to me there was no reason for the beating, the fat guys were just pissed they had to run.  He didn't even need to use the tazer.  The guy was completely compliant, and he had backup.  Lets see someone defend this.

Good to see police brutality isn't just for black suspects anymore.  Although if this guy was black they probably just would have shot him.  

You know this shit happens all the time (regardless of race).  People are finally starting to notice.  Yet cops everywhere still think they can get away with it.  Seems like any cop who has a sense of what's been going on in the world lately would know better than to pull this kind of shit.  Even the ones acquitted end up quitting and having their lives ruined.  Just doesn't seem worth it to do that anymore.

I would love to think we are at a turning point regarding police accountability.  Lots of good questions being asked in the public sphere and it's nice to see the surveillance state working both ways.

11 and Mound, here (OK, OK - not Detroit proper - full disclosure!) but we spent an awful lot of time in the seedier districts for this reason or that.

Only 3 miles away from the Ghetto. EAST SIDE
Family owned a store on 7 and Van Dyke for 25 years.
Passed 11 and Mound everyday for 25 years to get to 696. My cousin owned some grocery stores over that way, Shoppers Market.
