Sorry I can't help myself. Your correct that the expression is that you couldn't care less except that for whatever reason I could care less is very commonly used here in America. Here is a decent article in slate that goes over some possible justification for the common I could care less. The part that is fucking hilarious is "you "can careless' infers that you do" the word you are looking for is implies. You as a listener infer something he as a speaker would be implying it. Although I did just look at his original post "I can careless" doesn't even make remote sense, unless he was just really emphatically stating that he can be careless which is a different thing than caring less.

See, my understanding (and opinion) was that there were two interchangeable sayings at play:

"I couldn't care less" which is the rude dressing-down whatfor which tells the person, literally, that you simply could not care any less about whatever the hell they're talking about.

And then there's

"I could care less" which is a sarcastic jab, mocking the person and giving them false hope that you actually care [i]a little[/i] (because you could care a little less).

I use both interchangeably and Impromptu cigars represent quite possibly the lamest cigar marketing gimmick ever. Yes, even worse than any faux-fancy box or combat knife Gurkha dreamed up.
