Repairing torn feet on robustos

Post by Manelson05 »

Hey folks I recently received a nice cab of smokes, however I think the heat and moisture caused some of the feet to burst a little.

Have any of your repaired or at least stopped the tearing by using the tercadora (sp) cigar rollers glue? If so how were the results?

Thank you

Use pectin. You can buy it at a bunch of grocery stores. It's usually found next to mason jars and whatnot as I think it's used for making preserves.

Either that or just light the SOB on fire and enjoy. ;)

I would not use Pectin you find at the store unless it specifically says Acid-free and even then, pectin is highly attractive to molds/fungi until it is dry.

While I've heard good things about Gum Arabic, I simply wrap a little paper around the foot and tape it up.

I have Bermacoll from the below folks...

I haven't used it yet, but have heard good things.  It's what is originally used in the rolling process I believe.

Best of luck!  -Ryan
