The Sazarac is one of many of my favorite drinks. It was invented at the Roosevelt Hotel in downtown New Orleans. Excellent cocktail to stare, or end an evening. Another local favorite of mine is called the Vieux Carré. This is a perfect summertime drink.
INGREDIENTS
½ oz. Benedictine liqueur
½ oz. rye whiskey
½ oz. cognac
½ oz. sweet vermouth
Peychaud's bitters
Angostura bitters
Lemon twist, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Stir Benedictine liqueur, rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, 1 dash each Peychaud's and Angostura bitters, and one nice sized chunk of ice in a chilled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
(I copied and paste the recipe from saveur.com)
