Your favorite beach/pool cigar accessories

Post by forgop »

Leaving for Cancun in a week and plan on just sitting at the beach and pool doing nothing but maintaining a very slight buzz for the better part of a week and smoking some nice cigars.  I've not really afforded myself the opportunity to just be able to lounge and not have to worry about the kids and such, so I plan on smoking several cigars as well.

In terms of accessories to bring with me other than a lighter/cutter, I'm thinking the Xikar Ash Can and a clip of some sort typically used for golfing it seems would be 2 great options.  The cigar could be secured to a beach chair and I can ash in the can.  I'd prefer to pick up my own ashes and not ash in glasses/cups.

Any other recommendations?

Don't forget your sunblock, and a great pair of Maui Jim's so you can watch the cute girls walk by without having your wife smack you.

Have fun, and relax!

Your favorite beach/pool cigar accessories

I have never EVER traveled with those kinds of accessories to smoke with. Especially at a pool. IF, and that's a big IF, they allow smoking, they'll have ashtrays. Just seem like more work than it's worth.
In fact I actually cut/clip my cigars before I leave for the day when I'm on vacation. Just one less thing to bring.

FWIW, your lady needs to see you sneak a peak. It's a reminder for her that she needs to step up and deliver the goods in a extra special fashion when on vacation. After all, that's the best way to keep eyes from wandering. :)
Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

I won't light up at the pool because the area will be much more concentrated with people and I'm not going to be "that guy".  However, the beach is much more open, so I'll be more free to light up there.

I opted to get the Xikar Ash Can and then I got something called the Cigar Compadre.  A clip for securing the cigar is less desirable because it can squash your cigar, especially when you smoke much larger RG cigars like I do.

I will clip in the room-the only issue is finding where I can get a cheap torch lighter upon arrival as I cannot take any with carry on or checked luggage per TSA's website.  I was happy to score another zipidor to take my cigars in as I regretted selling the one I had a few years ago.

If by the pool.... You spent the cash, enjoy it like you own it! Ask wade how we roll at the don cesar in Tampa. Those old fucks tried to run us out, and management showed them how many rooms we had contrary to theirs! Needless to say, we smoked where we please!

But then again, that was then.......

Huge tank, has lasted me a week on one fill while on vacation. Never been an issue in my checked baggage in the Tranzpack.

If you need the case, I have a few extra NIB somewhere.

When at the beach, the ash goes into the sand. When I'm done with it, I take a walk into the water, go for a swim and tear it apart.
