ehh I dont get the whole privacy thing but I guess thats just me. I'm not worried but I would hate to see good people not be dealt with for lack of comments
I'll just go back to smoking my crappy, no stunning cigars

Same here. Privacy is overrated.
It's nice to acknowledge (and be acknowledged) for a satisfying experience. Asking for feedback seems kinda weird to me; however, I always (now) check feedback/ratings before transactions, for cigars, restaurants, escort services, whatever. ;D

Privacy?
If US Customs will open your packages, inspect your cigars, package them up and send them on to you.....I think you'll be ok on OLH.
Unfortunately I believe you have more to worry about from OLH's own membership than authorities. There are some real nut jobs on here. You may suddenly have a whole new online identity created about you. Such as places you've worked, places you've lived people thinking you are nicknames from other boards. Trust me on this.
I think you are actually doing a disservice to the community by not sharing your good experiences with trusted members and vice versa. If you are concerned about privacy, don't partake in a private INTERNET community that requires a username and password with people you don't have a clue about. Just my unsolicited $.02

Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

It was a hypothetical response. JJ asked why, and it was a reason that hadn't been voiced yet. I agree with you.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the feedback and love how easy OLH makes it. I always make sure to leave feedback on all of the forums for every deal I'm party to. Whether it's a good, bad, or so-so deal, I make sure to let people know and I always ask for them to do the same for me. Besides, privacy on the internet is non-existent. Your IP is logged every time you log on and this is easily traced to a physical location.
I also look up the type of posts people make before dealing with them because you really get to know them that way. For instance, people that engage in petty, internet-style pissing contests are NOT the type people I want to deal with.
